PhD Student

 

My doctoral research focuses on quantifying human bone variation at the shoulder to better understand the manifestation and treatment of shoulder pathological conditions. In addition to my research interests surrounding modern human skeletal variation, I am also deeply interested in the bioarchaeology and material archaeology of the nineteenth century and industrialization. I have previously undertaken research surrounding metabolic and substance use impacts on bone biomechanics and geometry, as well as in theoretical approaches to holistically considering the experiences of disabled people in the past. I have an additional passion for outreach, mentorship, and pedagogical approaches in anthropology and the natural and social sciences more broadly, and enjoy teaching and course development.
