My research explores the interactions between microbes and human biology as it pertains to human disease phenotypes. By examining a purposely dysfunctional human-microbe relationship through antibiotic exposure, my research is able to investigate how microbes affect human life history traits and disease phenotypes. My interest lies in the interaction between the microscopic and human worlds, and how these worlds interact biologically and culturally.
Projects that I have been previously involved in include, geophysics survey and archival research for the analysis of Woodland Cemetery’s Potter’s Field (London, ON); archaeological analysis of Vagnari Vicus (Puglia, Italy); curation support of Western Anthropology’s skeletal teaching collection; and ecological research regarding intertidal sea stars flipping (St. Andrews, NB) and Nicrophorus tomentosus chemoreception detection (Queen’s University Biological Station, ON) behaviours.
