My research focuses on
the tibia and how climate can affect bone growth. More
specifically, I aim to determine if the effect of climate
works through the process of growth sensitivity in the
proximal end of the tibia, where this process is most
rapid and susceptible to change. The results of this
research could uncover a possible mechanism of adaptation
and can be applied to past groups of hominins, as well as
to predict future responses to climate change.
I have previously been apart of a project looking at the
effects of psychosocial influences (ex. socioeconomic
status) on limb growth. I have also participated in an
excavation in Stillfried, Austria, at the site of
Grub-Kranawetberg.
